Hi everyone! I am a third-year undergraduate student studying Biochemistry at Arizona State University's Tempe campus. I joined Dr. David Brafman’s lab as an undergraduate researcher during my second semester, where I work under the mentorship of Albert Mintah. Our lab focuses on investigating the genetic and molecular factors associated with Alzheimer’s disease, and I have primarily been involved in studying variants of the APOE and RELN genes. Through my time in the lab, I have been learning more about these variants while also exploring other genes and pathways that may contribute to our understanding of Alzheimer’s disease.

As an aspiring neurosurgeon, I am especially interested in the connection between research and medicine. My experience in the lab has given me the opportunity to develop my scientific skills, expand my understanding of neurological disease, and gain a greater appreciation for the research that can shape future treatments. I am excited to continue learning, growing as a researcher, and contributing to our lab’s efforts to better understand Alzheimer’s disease.
