Professor Zach Berkson

Prof. Zach Berkson joined SEMTE as an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering in January, 2024. Following his BSE in Chemical Engineering at ASU in 2013, he earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara in 2018. In 2019 he moved ETH Zürich as a postdoctoral researcher in the Laboratory of Inorganic Chemistry, where he received a Spark Grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation and an ETH Zürich Career Seed Award. Prof. Berkson’s research focuses on designing sustainable energy conversion and storage materials by leveraging molecular-level insights into the structure, reactivity, and dynamics of complex interfaces.
