Md. Ariful Islam

Arif is pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University, Tempe, USA. He finished his undergraduate and master’s degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. His research explores the intersection of sleep health, machine learning, and deep learning.

Fun fact: Outside the lab, he’s an avid traveler who loves capturing landscapes through photography.

Sajib Biswas Shuvo

Sajib is pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University, Tempe, USA. He finished his undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh. His research interests encompass biomedical electronics, embedded systems, IoT, and power electronics.

Fun fact: When not working on circuits or sensors, Shuvo enjoys playing drums and tabla — and dreams of one day building a wearable device that keeps up with his rhythm.

Masters Students

Vedang Sharma

Vedang is pursuing his Master’s in Software Engineering at Arizona State University, Tempe, USA. He finished his undergraduate degree in Information Technology from Rajiv Gandhi Proudigiki Vishvawidyalaya, Bhopal, India. His research interests encompass machine learning and full-stack development.

Ripudaman Singh

Ripudaman is pursuing his Master’s in Software Engineering at Arizona State University, Tempe, USA. He finished his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the NorthCap University, India. He is experienced in data science with skills in Python, SQL, and Java. Proficient with Tableau, Hadoop ecosystem, and machine learning frameworks.

Fun fact: Enjoys playing guitar in free time.

Spoorthi Honnavara Parthasarathy

Spoorthi is pursuing her Master’s in Computer and Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University, Tempe, USA. She completed her undergraduate degree in Electronics Engineering from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, India. Her research interests include biomedical signal processing, low-power circuit design, and wearable health monitoring systems.

Fun fact: She enjoys singing, is an avid swimmer, and loves travelling and exploring new places.

Shraddha Santosh Kulkarni

Shraddha is pursuing her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University, Tempe, USA. She completed her Bachelor of Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, India. Her academic and research interests span the convergence of biomedical signal processing, power electronics, and wearable sensor systems, where she aims to design innovative technologies that bridge engineering and human health.

Fun fact: Beyond academics, Shraddha is an avid singer and passionate traveler. She performs in four languages—English, Hindi, Marathi, and Kannada—and finds joy in exploring diverse cultures and musical traditions. Her lifelong dream is to travel the globe and experience the beauty of different communities through music and discovery.

Undergraduate Students

Shayan Mazhar

Shayan is pursuing his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University, Tempe, USA. His research interests include the application of machine learning in electrical engineering and the healthcare sectors.

Fun fact: In my free time, I play video games and keep up with soccer, and I have recently taken an interest in 3-D printing and modeling.

Matthew Bala

Matthew Bala is an undergraduate student studying neuroscience at Arizona State University. His research interests include machine learning in healthcare applications.

Fun fact: He loves everything about the Old West: the good, the bad, and the ugly. If he’s not rewatching some Spaghetti Westerns, he’ll be playing some classical piano for his dog. His work is featured or upcoming in various literary magazines like Black Stone / White Stone, JMWW, Dipity, and others. He has also published his debut Western Fiction novella There Comets Cry with Next Chapter Publishing.

John Michael Record

John Michael Record is an undergraduate Electrical Engineering student at Arizona State University.  His research interests include wearable sensors and biomedical signal processing, with the goal of developing technologies to improve cardiovascular health.

Fun fact: Outside of engineering, he plays guitar, rock climbs, and is an avid reader.
