SHANDHI Lab
Dr. Shandhi is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in the School of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering and Biodesign Institute Center for Bioelectronics and Biosensors
SHANDHI Lab is focused on developing reliable and equitable digital health technologies, e.g., wearable sensors and computational algorithms (AI/ML), that can enable personalized health care and remote patient monitoring for patients with chronic and infectious diseases.
Dr. Shandhi has received multiple awards and grants for his research work, including the American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship and Duke Heart Center and Translating Duke Health (TDH) cardio-oncology grant. Besides these two grants as PI, he has received a National Institute of Health (NIH) mHealth Training Institute 2023 Scholarship, Early Career Fellowship, Best Paper award, Runner-up Best Paper award, First Place Research award, and Distinguished Poster Nominee for his work.
Before coming to ASU, Dr. Shandhi finished his postdoctoral training in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. He finished his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Before his Ph.D., he finished his MS in ECE from the University of Utah and his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

PhD Students
SHANDHI Lab at Arizona State University is looking for two motivated PhD students who will focus on developing wearable sensors and computational algorithms for monitoring patients with chronic and infectious diseases (cardiovascular, respiratory, cancer, etc.). Students will have opportunities to work with clinicians, clinical researchers, engineers, and patients to see the successful translation of their research.
We are looking for students with a background in engineering (electrical, biomedical, mechanical, etc.) or computer science. Students with hands-on experience in embedded systems, biomedical signal processing, and application of artificial intelligence/machine learning are encouraged to apply.
