Dr. Jacob Becker will join L3 Technology this month. The group would like to thank Jake for his many contributions to our group in the past five years. We wish him prosperity in his future career with L3 Technology.

The group presented two papers at this year’s Photovoltaic Specialists Conference(PVSC). Calli Campbell talked about the high efficicency MgCdTe solar cell and Jacob Becker revealed the loss analysis. Congratulations to Jacob Becker and Calli Campbell, and to coauthors Chengying Tsai, Guopeng Chen, Peng Wang and Jia Ding for their contributions to these projects.

Congratulations to Dr. Jacob Becker on his successful PhD defense entitled “Optimization of monocrystalline MgxCd1-xTe/MgyCd1-yTe double-heterostructure solar cells.” We wish Jacob the best in the future career.

Calli Campbell’s paper is accepted as the finalist for the best student paper award in Phtovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC) this summer. Congratulations from the entire MBE Optoelectronics Group!

Congratulations to Dr. Xinhao Zhao for being selected as a finalist for the prestigious award, Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award – Material Science & Engineering.

This summer, Maxwell Lassise is travelling to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at New Mexico state for summer interm. We are looking forward to have more collaborations with AFRL in the future
