A paper studying heterovalent interface of CdTe/InSb, jointly authored by our group and our collaborators in physics department, has been selected as the editor’s pick by Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A: Vacuum, Surfaces, and Films (JVST). Congratulations for Xingye Wang, Calli Campbell and Prof. Robert Nemanich.

Calli Campbell’s paper about MgCdTe solar cell and lift-off technology is accepted as the  finalist for the best student paper award in 2018 Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC). This work is an international collaboration with University of Warsaw, Poland. Congratulations to Calli and coauthors, Chengying Tsai, Jia Ding, Bartlomiej Seredynski and Wojciech Pacuski.

The group welcomes our new assistant research scientist, Dr. Yang Zhang. Yang earned his Ph.D in Microelectronics and Solid-state Electronics from Insititute of Semiconductor, CAS from China and has several postdoctoroal experiences in Italy and US. He will lead some IR photodector related research.

We would extend our warm welcome to Tyler McCathy to join our group as a Ph.D student. He finished his bachelor degree in electrical engineering December 2017 at Arizona State University. He has been working with the group since summer 2017 and is excited to conduct research into optoelectronic devices.

The 4th International IR Workshop took place November 8 – 9, 2017 in ASU. All the group members joined the meeting and four of them got poster award. Thanks for their participation and hard work.

Congratulations to Calli Campbell, Maxwell Lassise and Chengying Tsai for their successful presentations at the 33rd North American Conference on Molecular Beam Epitaxy (NAMBE 2017). Thanks to all of the presenters and their coauthors for their great work.
