PhD Student
Materials Science and Engineering
Born and raised Florida, Nicholas attended The University of Central Florida and graduated in 2020 with a degree in mechanical engineering. In the final years of his undergraduate he helped with research and senior design projects focused on enchaining current photovoltaic systems with novel cloud tracking technology. After graduating, Nicholas joined the Exolith lab out of UCF as a simulant research engineer, working on systems for extracting oxygen from lunar simulant. Nicholas joined the defect lab in 2022 starting his Ph.D in materials sciences engineering. Nicholas spends his time outside of the lab rock climbing and training, exploring the outdoors in Arizona, and learning to appreciate the arts.
