The Problem<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Complex Tissue Injury and Lack of Effective Repair<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Injuries are a ubiquitous fact of life. However, despite multiple millions of new cases each year and several billions of dollars in annual health care costs, there are no effective treatments for many types of complex injuries, such as those in the skin and spinal cord.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our Approach<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. Development of novel biomaterial scaffolds<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We engineer biomaterials with enhanced and expanded functionality to promote tissue repair and regeneration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Controlled delivery of bioactives<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We develop methods to delivery bioactives with the goal of treating tissues with “the right drug at the right time” in order to stimulate reparative pathways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Identification and development of novel bioactive agents<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We reverse engineer dysfunctional signaling observed in diseased states and pro-healing pathways stimulated by biomaterials to facilitate target identification for novel bioactives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
