The Pavements and Materials Program at ASU covers a wide range of topics related to pavement design, performance, maintenance, and materials. Students learn advanced laboratory experiments and numerical techniques that contribute to the advancement of transportation infrastructure. It’s an interdisciplinary field that draws on knowledge from various subjects. Graduates of this program find careers in transportation engineering, working on projects like road design, airport runways, and improving transportation infrastructure. The faculty is actively involved in research in this area, and graduate students often participate in these projects. ASU offers a graduate curriculum that provides a strong foundation in pavements and materials while also being adaptable to the evolving needs of the field. Graduates benefit from Arizona’s strong economy and competitive job market, with opportunities in government agencies, consulting firms, and academia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our group seeks new students and professionals with interests in pavement mechanics, pavement sustainability, and advanced material characterization and modeling. Opportunities may exist in all of these areas and\/or other collaborative cross-disciplinary projects. Openings may exist at all levels including undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral. University, national, and international funding opportunities exist for both domestic and international students and all are invited to consider joining our efforts.
