Changyu is a PhD student majoring in Mechanical Engineering at ASU. He obtained his bachelor and master degrees from Wuhan University of Technology and Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of sciences, respectively. He has developed an interest in modelling the deformation and damage behavior of structural materials using high-performance computational mechanics techniques. His current projects involve image-based (microCT) fatigue mechanism study of additively manufactured metallic materials, inverse learning of constitutive laws from noisy experimental/simulating data, and efficient machine learning-based failure prediction models.
