He earned his chemical engineering degree in 2024 from the Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Mexicali, where he developed a strong foundation in experimental research through projects at UC San Diego and the Universidad de Guanajuato. Sa\u00fal joined the DEfECT Lab in August 2025 to explore defect engineering and its role in solar cells.
