Before his master\u2019s he gained his bachelor\u2019s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Currently, Albert works in the Brafman Stem cell Lab as a Research Technician where he trains new researchers, runs advanced research in stem cell technology, and manages the day-to-day laboratory work.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Projects&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Albert is currently utilizing base edited gene-editing technology to generate Apolipoprotein E (APOE) loss of function cell lines. Utilizing the same technology, Albert is genetically modifying APOE wild type cells (APOE3) into APOE2 cell lines. Later phenotypical studies on these cell lines will contribute to understanding Alzheimer\u2019s as these genes play a key role in Alzheimer\u2019s disease onset and progression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Albert is also working together with Trailhead Biosciences, Biogen, and other researchers in developing proliferative Forebrain, Midbrain and Oligodendrocyte progenitors.
