I recently graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and moved to Phoenix to make up for all the missed months of sunshine! In the Brafman lab, I’m working on generating various stem cell lines using our TREE system and Prime Editing technology to study the effects of the different isoforms of APOE. Along with my own individual projects, I also work with the PhD candidates in the lab to differentiate hiPSCs to neurons, microglia, and other cell types; a new territory to me I’m excited to learn more about. Outside of lab I’m very passionate about the environment, and spend my time hiking, walking my dog, and volunteering at my local garden. I also love music and enjoy playing my guitar and keyboard, and going to see live performances.
