He received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2023. Prior to that, he worked at NVIDIA for 8 years (from 2012-2020). He received his Master&#8217;s degree at University of Texas at Austin in 2012. Prior to that, he worked at Freescale Semiconductor (now NXP) for 3 years. He received his Bachelor&#8217;s degree from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India in 2007.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-930feb06 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ph.D. Dissertation Research<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dissertation Title:&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Optimizing FPGA Architecture for Deep Learning Workloads<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Highlights:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adding matrix multiplier blocks to FPGAs (&#8220;Tensor Slices&#8221;)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Impact:&nbsp;<\/strong>The FPGA industry has developed similar blocks recently like Intel AI Tensor Block and Achronix Machine Learning Processor. Although these blocks do not support matrix multiplication natively, the fact that industry is finding similar solutions demonstrates that our research is on the right track.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incorporating compute-in-memory in FPGAs (&#8220;CoMeFa RAMs&#8221;)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Impact:<\/strong>&nbsp;Our paper proposing these memory blocks at FCCM\u201922 won the Best Paper Award, and companies like Rapid Silicon have expressed interest in this technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Benchmarks for FPGA architecture research (&#8220;Koios Benchmarks&#8221;)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Impact:<\/strong>&nbsp;Koios is being used by many researchers worldwide and also by companies like Efinix in their
